The Afghan Balochistan is the south-centre and south-west part of Afghanistan. It comprises a part of the historical Balochistan region; to its south is Pakistani Balochistan and Iranian Balochistan in the west.
Geography
Afgani Baluchistan is Nimroz, south of Helmand, Kandahar and south-west of Farah province of Afghanistan. Afghani Baluchistan with an area (70,000 km²). It became part of Afghanistan after Perso-Baluch Boundary.
The Baluch are another Iranian ethnic group that numbers around 200,000 in Afghanistan. The main Baloch areas located in Balochistan province in Pakistan and Sistan and Baluchistan province of Iran. Many also live in southern Afghanistan. They are most likely an offshoot of the Kurds and reached Afghanistan sometime between 1000 and 1300 BCE. Mainly pastoral and desert dwellers, the Baluch are also Sunni Muslim.[1] The Baluch population in Afghanistan 200,000 and Brahui also 200,000. Majority of Baluch and Brahui are living in the southern Afghanistan. Baluch are mostly settled in Nimruz and Farah. Brahui mainly are settled in Kandahar. In Helmand Baluch and Brahui are living mixed. Baluchs in other parts of Afghanistan speak Pashto. Soviet war in Afghanistan and Afghan Civil War (1989-1992) many Pashto settled in northern part of Afghani Baluchistan.
